postable me

I’m an author and journalist in Southern California. My most recent books are Remembering Lahaina, a memoir of my years as a journalist on Maui, and The B Girls, a novel about women who work at a chaotic bikini bar in Orange County, California. A journalist since 1996, I’m currently a reporter and editor for the Long Beach Watchdog. I wrote a series of noirish novels set on Maui–Small Island, The Dead Season, and Pau Hana Time—all published by Event Horizon Press. I put together a collection of my early journalism that deals with classic noir themes like misfits, beautiful babes and rich guys called “Stealing Cars With The Pros.” I’ve written for Los Angeles Magazine, Long Beach Post, OC Weekly, Sacramento Magazine, Sacramento News & Review, Honolulu Weekly and CalWatchdog. I live in Long Beach, California with my girlfriend Angie and our cat Gromit.
