I guess it’s the times we live in but I now feel compelled to disclose that at no time in the writing of these books did I ever use AI. That includes my research, logical organization, writing and proofreading. To the extent that I know, none of the works I may reference in the non-fiction books used AI.
This is my memoir of the 12 years I spent as a journalist on Maui, and how a lot of what I learned there, about island history, tourism and myself, helps explains the conditions that led to the tragic 2023 wildfire that destroyed the town of Lahaina and killed over 100 people.

I self-published my newest novel. Based on years of interviews with women who currently or formerly worked in Orange County bikini bars, the book is about Sarah, a 45-year-old paralegal who gets a job at a particularly chaotic bikini bar after her law firm goes under. The book is told entirely through the points of view of Sarah and her co-workers. Think of it as a comedy, but with a lot of crying and misogyny.
