My new novel The B Girls, which is about women who work at an unusually chaotic bikini bar in Orange County, California, is now available on Amazon.com as an ebook.
I’ve been working on this for a few years now, talking to women who currently or formerly work in OC bikini bars. My original goal was to do a work of journalistic non-fiction, but given the fact that many of the women I spoke to have never told their families about the work they do, I worried that describing them in any kind of detail might expose them to harm.
So I kept the basic truths of what they told me and fictionalized the rest.
Anyway, I tried to get an agent to publish this thing, but the whole publishing industry is whack right now. So I just uploaded all 80,000 words to Amazon and that’s that. For now, the ebook is priced at the grand sum of 99 cents American.
I’m unsure if there will be a paperback version because of the whole tariffs things. Until that all shakes out, and we see what happens to the price of paper, I’ll just keep this an ebook. Also, I wanted to keep it as cheap as possible.
